Many web hosting accounts this day use cpanel as the interface for a webmaster to manage the files on their domain. Within this control panel, you’ll often see an picture titled Fantastico. If you ever decide to leave your current host for a different web host, you will need your back up of the scripts and database along with all of the usernames and passwords to get the script working without having to do a complete new install on the new web host. How are you going to do that if you let Fantastico or some other automatic script installation service do the work for you?

My view is to either learn and do the installation yourself and record the info somewhere you wont loose it, or simply use the automatic script installer under the picture called ‘script library’ already inside cpanel. This grants you to determine what the database name, username and password should be.

NOTE: Always do regular backups of all your files, scripts and more importantly your databases, this way you are always protected.
