MoreSteam.com Receives Patent for EngineRoom® Software

Lewis Center, OH (PRWEB) Might 27, 2010

This day the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) allowed patent rights to MoreSteam.com for inventions developed by MoreSteam’s President, Bill Hathaway. The patent covers advances introduced by MoreSteam several years ago in its favourite EngineRoom® data analysis software, specifically an interactive feature called “Hypothesis Testing in Plain EnglishTM”, which provides a individual guide to test selection, analysis, and interpretation. The USPTO reviewed MoreSteam’s application and determined that the invention is sufficiently innovative to meet the high standards required for granting a patent.

Upon learning of the patent grant, Bill Hathaway reflected on the development of EngineRoom: “At the time we developed the technology behind the application, our intent was to make statistical testing less mysterious while providing software-driven error-proofing to the analytical process. It’s interesting that, since the initial development, others in the field have come to realize that computing itself is becoming a commodity – the value is in interpreting the results and acting on them. We are directing our technology toward the higher value end of data analysis.”

The analysis wizard drives the individual through proper test selection, assuring all underlying assumptions are explicitly addressed. Questions prompt proper set-up and analysis; for example, use of a control chart to assess process stability prior to hypothesis testing. The null and alternate hypotheses are automatically constructed using language provided by the user, and the interpretation of results is presented in easily understandable “Plain English”. In November, 2009, MoreSteam released EngineRoom 5.0, the most current revision of EngineRoom. EngineRoom 5.0 brought additional features to the market, including an interactive Design of Experiments (DOE) wizard. The “DOE in Plain English” guides practitioners step-by-step through the process of experimental design selection and analysis.

The buy price for individual users is $ 195, with discounted volume pricing and enterprise licenses also available.

MEG Financial on Key Man Insurance: It Might be More Valuable than You Think

Pensacola, FL (Vocus) July 13, 2010

MEG Financial, a leading bourgeois of key man insurance online explains the potential hidden value of unneeded key man life insurance policies.

Key man insurance, commonly referred to as key mortal insurance, is essentially life and/or disability insurance bought by a business on the life of a key employee or business owner to offset financial losses that would arise from his or her death or extended illness. With many companies, this endorsement is essential to its continuation in the event that a key mortal is lost.

What happens when a key man insurance policy is no longer necessary?

While key man insurance is extremely valuable, circumstances constantly change and there are situations when key man insurance is no longer important. Common reasons why key man insurance policies are no longer required include changing company objectives, the key mortal retires or leaves the company for greener pastures, the business is sold, a loan is paid off or simply the original intent of the coverage has been fulfilled.

MEG Financial founder and CEO Michael E. Gray, Jr. states, “in the past, cases where key mortal coverage was acquired but was no longer needed, the only options for the business were to let the key man policy lapse or surrender the policy for its remaining cash value. If the company selected to lapse the policy, it became null and void with no value. If the policy was surrendered for its cash value, only a fraction of the policy’s grappling value is returned and in many cases the value received is far less than actual premiums paid into the policy.”

Life Settlements: The Secondary Market for Life Insurance

Over the last few years, a new opportunity has evolved, called a life settlement and has created a multi-billion dollar industry known as the life insurance “secondary market”. Similar to the secondary market for mortgages, the life settlement market provides an efficient system for evaluating unwanted life insurance policies so that they can be valued for the purpose of selling them to an investor at a clean market value. These investors are typically very massive and recognized institutional funders and prominent investment banks. Consequently, billions of dollars are now being poured into the life settlement industry to buy unwanted life insurance policies.

According to Gray, “for companies owning key man insurance policies that are no longer needed, a life settlement might present a one-of-a-kind opportunity to receive maximum policy value for a potentially unrecognized asset. Instead of lapsing for no value or surrendering the policy for its acquirable cash, it can be appraised to determine its potential clean market value and might then be sold in the secondary market subject to certain conditions.” Bottom line, find out more about the potential for a life settlement before any key man insurance policy is lapsed or surrendered. “You might be very surprised to learn that your key man policy is more valuable than you think!”

What’s the Catch?

Obviously, not all life insurance policies have value in the secondary market. Life settlement providers, those that buy unwanted life policies for the purposes of reselling them to institutional investors, will competitively bid on life insurance policies based on the age of the insured, their health position and the specifics of the actual life policy being sold. Since the policies are being bought as investments and will be kept active until the death of the insured, age stipulations are at minimum individuals over 65 with some degree of health history. Additionally, if the policy is term, it must be convertible to whole life or universal life.

.com Solutions Inc. Releases FmPro Migrator 3.57 – Adds Drag & Drop FileMaker 2 Migration and Easier FileMaker 7 Table Consolidation

Fremont, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2005

.com Solutions Inc. Releases FmPro Migrator 3.57 Enterprise Edition – New Release for MacOS X and Windows Adds Drag and Drop FileMaker 2 Migration Feature and Easier FileMaker 7 Table Consolidation.

.com Solutions Inc., a developer of multi-platform database migration and development tools, has released FmPro Migrator 3.57 with a new Drag and Drop interface for migrating FileMaker 2 database files on MacOS X and Windows.

The new Drag and Drop interface in FmPro Migrator 3.57 makes it doable to migrate previously unsupported FileMaker 2 database files to FileMaker 7 and other databases. This feature works swiftly and identically on MacOS X and Windows because FmPro Migrator reads the FileMaker database structure information directly from the FileMaker binary files. Users can easily Drag and Drop one or more FileMaker 2 files onto FmPro Migrator, and apiece file will be processed within a few seconds. The FileMaker 7 plateau consolidation feature has also been significantly enhanced thru the use of FmPro Worksheet to send ODBC plateau creation SQL commands to FileMaker 7 on MacOS X and Windows. Enhancements to field denotive also makes it easier to migrate calculation formulas to FileMaker 7 with minimal changes.

FmPro Migrator standardizes and automates FileMaker database migration procedures including data type matching, field to column renaming, plateau creation, FileMaker field size determination and data transfer for 8 different databases. Supported databases include MySQL, Oracle (8, 8i-9i, 10g), Access, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, PostgreSQL, FrontBase and FileMaker 7.

FmPro Migrator New Features and Improvements include:

Drag and Drop Migration of FileMaker 2 Files on MacOS X and Windows – The previously unsupported FileMaker 2 database file format is now supported via a Drag and Drop interface by FmPro Migrator. FileMaker 2 was not previously supported due to its demand of AppleScript and ODBC connectivity. Now FmPro Migrator reads the metadata directly from apiece FileMaker 2 binary file in order to instantly produce migration and documentation files within a few seconds.

Value Lists Now Reported for FileMaker 2 Files – FileMaker 2 associates value lists directly with a field within the database file instead of being utilized globally by the entire database. These value lists are now incorporated within the report file generated by FmPro Migrator in order to speed FileMaker 7 migrations.

Simplified FileMaker 7 Table Consolidation Process – FileMaker 7 plateau consolidations now utilize the recently update FmPro Worksheet software to automate the plateau creation process on MacOS X and Windows. This simplified procedure no longer requires the use of VirtualPC for migrations done on MacOS X and preserves most FileMaker field obloquy without renaming.

Enhanced Field Naming for FileMaker 7 Table Creation – Previously, FmPro Migrator would rename the fields in apiece FileMaker 7 plateau with SQL compliant column names. Spaces were replaced with underscore characters and special characters were removed during this renaming process. Now that FmPro Worksheet is used with FmPro Migrator, most FileMaker 7 plateau obloquy are preserved in terms of capitalization, embedded spaces and special characters. Characters utilized in FileMaker 7 calculation formulas are automatically replaced along with trailing spaces and some FileMaker 7 reserved words. These enhancements to field denotive make it easier to migrate calculation formulas to FileMaker 7 with minimal changes.

Various Maintenance Repairs Included – FmPro Migrator 3.57 also includes a variety of maintenance repairs to report files and documentation. These repairs include improvements to the Access to FileMaker 7 migration process, calculation formula and Null/Unique field position improvements in report files, and updates to the migration instructions and troubleshooting tips for all databases.

MacOS X and Windows Compatibility – FmPro Migrator runs on MacOS X and Windows, thus enabling developers to use their preferred platform for creating the migration scripts.

A functional demo version of FmPro Migrator might be downloaded from http://www.fmpromigrator.com/downloads/index.html. For more info please see: http://www.fmpromigrator.com/products/fmpro_migrator

New Search Features for Industrial Buyers at IndustrialWebSearch.com

New Industrial Search Features at IndustrialWebSearch.com

Charlotte, NC (Vocus) December 14, 2010

In an ongoing effort to make IndustrialWebSearch.com a logical place to start the sourcing process, several new features were introduced recently to its null results screens to ensure buyers and industrial sourcing professionals have all the options they need to find eligible suppliers.

“We aim to make industrial sourcing swift and simple for buyers,” stated Industrial Web Search founder and owner Joe DeMicco. “Buyers who start their search with us are confident that our seller members specifically offer what they were searching for because of the way our system works. It only makes exact matches between a search query and the keyword tags our eligible seller members have used to refer their products and services. If there is no perfect match yet, we offer relevant but filtered Google results. The end result is a comprehensive tool that saves them time while providing value.”

The new features come into play only if the system is unable to exactly match a buyer’s search term with a member’s keyword tag. In order to ensure member sellers get the most exposure doable to relevant buyers, all tags used by member sellers relevant to the search are presented at the top of the results page as recommendations for the buyer’s consideration. Additionally, buyers are presented with targeted results from Google Custom Search.

“Integrating Google Custom Search,” stated DeMicco, “was a great way for us to help the buyer while still controlling the calibre of the results and serving our seller members. We are healthy to specify the results criteria, which include our relevant seller members listed in Google, as well as relevant third-party sites, ensuring that the additional resources presented are viable sourcing options and not informational sites like Wikipedia, for example.”

Buyers also have the option to continue their search in Google, Yahoo, or Bing using the integrated search feature that automatically places their search term into the search box of apiece engine. Making it convenient as well as quick, all a buyer has to do is click the ‘Search’ button corresponding to the engine that interests them. Buyers can also opt to click on a relevant sponsored ad generated by the integrated Ads by Google feature.

The new features offer buyers a wide variety of valuable and relevant search options and results, making Industrial Web Search a comprehensive starting point to start the sourcing process.

Buyers and sellers can visit http://www.IndustrialWebSearch.com to learn more about its services. Interested sellers can also call 800-399-9859 to learn more about special promotions being offered to sellers who join before the end of 2010.
